TFT screen manufacturer,Chimei Innolux Taiwan will double spending next year. Innolux chairman Duan Xingjian said that this year spending was about 190 billion New Taiwan dollars, next year will increase to 300 to 400 billion Taiwan dollars. New investment is for R & D technology, and expanding the existing six-generation line and the 8.5 generation line capacity. 6 generation line monthly capacity will be expanded to around 40,000pcs. 8.5 generation line is expected to expand up to 20,000pcc. In the second half of next year, will release new capacity.
TFT LCD supplier, AUO general manager Peng Shuanglang pointed out that the AUO capacity saturation in the long term will not be able to meet customer needs, so AUO is considering to expand, but progress is still in evaluating, no concrete results yet. However, the Board has approved a budget of NT $ 21.362 billion yuan, in order to meet the adjustment and optimization techniques of production capacity. Regarding sixth generation LTPS plant in China mainland, Kunshan, it is also in financing negotiation with the mainland bank, and is estimated to launch at Q2 this year.
